Quinta do Monte Xisto, a strong character red wine from Douro Superior, which combines the experience and knowledge of two generations of the well-known Nicolau de Almeida family. Produced under the supervision of João Nicolau de Almeida by his sons, Quinta do Monte Xisto praises the culture of Douro and the specific nature of the terroir, expressed by the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Sousão grape varieties. This wine is bright and luminous in appearance, projecting its flavour to a universe of red roses and violets, cherries, plums and pomegranates. The more we engage, the more we are surprised by that almost ethereal feel, by that smell of earth, of wet schist on a hot stormy day. It begins smoothly and develops in a balanced and consistent manner: expressive, spiritual and persistent finish.
