Produced exclusively from the Syrah variety, it reveals the enormous potential of this variety in a special and challenging climate that only Serpa provides.
This version is matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry oak casks from the Spanish region of Jerez. The sherry-soaked wood introduces the rich, sultry flavours of dried fruit and warm spice. Nàdurra Oloroso, like all expressions in the range, is bottled and released in small batches, and, unlike most modern whiskies, is non-chill filtered so has all the body you would expect from a whisky that has been drawn straight from the cask. It's a bright, vivacious gold liquid, with aromas of dried fruit and spice. To drink, it's smooth and creamy with chocolate and marmalade.
An elegant, stylish nose of marmalade, Crema Catalana, cocoa and malt. Plenty of vanilla and a sprinkling of winter spice (nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon) alongside a mouth-watering hint of aniseed.
Clear, golden color. The nose is characteristically Lagavulin with the sweet smoke that explodes on the nose with a little more brine than the other expressions.
Aromatic and lively, aromas of vanilla and spice evocative of dried clove and chai are layered on a base of earthly, malty undertones reminiscent of Balvenie’s own barley loft.
Aged in barrels that already contained Caribbean rum, it is characterized by its surprising finish. The four months spent in Gran Reserva rum barrels give this Single Malt very distinct aromas and flavors: an intense, sweet and floral aroma of vanilla with a hint of banana.
